GENERAL PROCEDURES TO EVALUATE THE DEVELOPMENT AND QUALITY OF THE PROGRAMME

The monitoring and evaluation of the Quality of the Doctorate Programme is based on:

  • the collection of information at a technical and scientific level
  • the Doctorate evaluation surveys
Information gathering procedures

Registration of basic information by the Administrative Secretariat of the Doctoral Program regarding:

  • Enrolled students.
  • Participation in mobility programmes (with information regarding the type of programme and length of stays in months).
  • Students with funding obtained in competitive programs.
  • Students with Extraordinary Doctorate Award.
  • Students with a European Doctorate.

Registry of scientific information by the Administrative Secretariat of the Doctorate Program regarding:

  • Publications in scientific journals and books.
  • Presentations and conferences at congresses.
  • Patents or technology transfer applications.
  • Agreements with scientific entities.
  • Reports of stays made.

The information will be collected, along with the training activities, in the follow-up notebook that will be delivered to the Administrative Secretariat of the Program along with the necessary documentation for the defense of the Doctoral Thesis.

The Academic Committee of the Doctoral Programme will analyze the information received and estimate its degree of adjustment to the ratios established for the basic quality indicators of the Doctoral Programmes of the UPM.

Evaluation procedures

In addition to the mechanisms of the Programme through the collection of information indicated above, the procedures for evaluating the development and quality of the Program follow the guidelines of the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) developed by the Quality Unit of the ETSI Agronómica, Alimentaria y de Biosistemas, with general surveys and annual statistical counts collected in the Quality Plan.

The evaluation of the development of the quality of the Programme by the students will be based on the information collected in the surveys carried out with the students through its virtual polytechnic. The surveys will evaluate the quality, level of adequacy, satisfaction and use of the activities proposed in this training phase.

The information will be completed with the surveys carried out to the professors / Thesis Directors on the activities carried out in the Doctorate, where the workload, degree of satisfaction and adequacy with the line of research developed in the Thesis will be analyzed.

There is also a mailbox where students, professors, administration and services personnel, or the general public, can present complaints, suggestions and congratulations related to the operation of the ETSIAAB services in general and the Doctoral Program in particular, ensuring that each one of them is treated by the appropriate organizational unit and that the interested party can know the management status and the resolution of the same.
