The PhD Programme in Biotechnology and Genetic Resources of Plants and Associated Microorganisms at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid aims to provide the student with a solid theoretical, methodological and research base in areas related to Biotechnology, Genomics and the Breeding of Plants and Microorganisms, particularly in its applications to Agriculture, Forestry, Food production and Environment protection.

The goal of the programme is to train Doctors that will be:

• Prepared in the most recent and innovative concepts and technologies in the field of Agroforestry Biotechnology and Plant and Microorganism Genetic Resources.
• With the ability to consult bibliographic bases, discuss, interpret and present the experimental data obtained in the context of scientific publications.
• With the ability to direct high quality research projects and tasks with international projection.

This knowledge will materialize in the preparation and public defense of an original and innovative Doctoral Thesis.
